About Kim Carpenter

What I really want you to know about me is that I’m just a person on the planet wanting to leave it better than I found it. I believe one of the best ways to do that is to change how business works. As business owners, we’ve got to take a stand for what we believe is right and then take action to change things for the better. And if you’re here reading this, there’s a really good chance that you’re one of those business people that want to make the world a better place too. In fact, you probably want to play a really BIG part in that. Am I right?

I’m committed to helping entrepreneurs do more good in the world through their business activities. I believe that small business owners, entrepreneurs and solopreneurs are optimally positioned to create positive change. Think about it – you don’t have to report to a board or a bunch of shareholders. You can be nimble, flexible, and ninja-like in your business maneuvers. You’re the head honcho. You call the shots! You CAN make a difference in any way that you choose.

For over 15 years, Kim was an executive for some of the world’s top online marketing and advertising agencies. By all accounts, she had a great career. Nice salary and 401K. Big fancy offices with views of SOHO. So, it’s no wonder her family and friends rolled their eyes when she complained about being unhappy with her career.

What was the problem? Kim longed to do more good in the world through her work. Even though her clients at Mastercard, BlueCross, FootLocker, Toyota and Pepsi were great people, she didn’t give two hoots about marketing credit cards or selling more sneakers. Her soul was aching for more meaning, and she knew she had to make a big change.

She quit her job, sold everything and gave up her Carrie Bradshaw-esque New York City life. After spending a year traveling through India, Israel, Germany, Italy and Cyprus, she knew two things for sure — she had to take a stand for "good business", and she had to surround herself with clients and a community with the same values.

Kim now works with change-makers who believe that businesses can create positive change for people and our planet. Kim’s clients rely on her socially conscious + business savvy mentorship to help them focus their efforts for maximum efficiency, profitability and positive impact.

Kim is also the founder of World Changing Women, a social venture in support of women and children’s rights. World Changing Women sponsors skills-based volunteer journeys in developing countries where the need is most pressing.

After traveling the world for most of her life, Kim now shares her home base between Austin, Texas and British Columbia. You’ll find her headed south in the winter for spicy Tex-mex and sunshine, and north in the summer for crystal clear lake swims and majestic mountain hikes. Truly the best of both worlds.
